AGADIR - MARRAKECH - CASABLANCA - RABAT - MEKNES - FES - IFRANE - ERFOUD - TINERHIR - OUARZAZATE - MARRAKECH

Morocco impresses with its fascinating mountains, vibrant cities, lush palm oases and seemingly endless beaches on the Atlantic Ocean. On the one hand Morocco gets more modern, on the other hand the past is preserved and maintained. Maybe that is what makes Morocco so attractive as a tourist destination. Enjoy unforgettable impressions in the almost fairytale like royal cities of Morocco.

Day 1: Arrival to Marrakesch
Individual arrival to Marrakech. At the airport you are already expected by our service guide. Transfer to Hotel.
Diner and overnight stay at Hotel Sofitel Marrakech Lounge and Spa.

Day 2: Agadir - Marrakech - Casablanca
After breakfast drive to Marrakech. In Marrakech you will have lunch (optional) before continuing to Casablanca, Morocco's most famous city because of the movie of the same name. In this City of Dreams for all western-oriented Moroccans visit the mosque Hassan II. (from outside), which was built on the cliffs into the sea. From there you can enjoy a magnificent view of the city and the Atlantic Ocean. Afterwards you have free time. Take a stroll through the wide boulevards, along old french-inspired townhouses from the 30s and 40s. We recommend the Medina. Here it is bustling, lively and colourful, a kind of flea market where everyone sells everything. There is certainly something for you! Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel Le Palace d'Anfa.
Distance: approx. 540km.

Day 3: Casablanca - Rabat - Meknes - Fes
Breakfast in the hotel. Today we head for Rabat, the country's capital. Experience the Royal Palace (from outside) and the 44m high, never finished Hassan Tower, the city's landmark. The mausoleum of Mohamed V is located in this impressive complex as well. You will also visit the Kasbah (castle or fortress made of clay). Continue to the next royal city, to Meknes. There, after lunch (optional), you will take a city tour and see the monumental gate "Bab al Mansour", known as the most beautiful gate of Morocco, situated in the middle of an impressive 40 km long city wall. Meknes itself is surrounded by a beautiful green landscape with olive groves and is also known for its fine wines. Afterwards your journey goes to Fez.
Dinner and stay at Hotel Zalagh Parc Palace for 2 nights.
Distance: approx. 290km.

Day 4: Fez
After a leisurely breakfast, you will start a city tour of Fez, the oldest of the four Moroccan imperial cities and the country's spiritual centre. The famous Karaouine Mosque is the city's most important building, but can only be visited from the outside. The prayer hall is supported by 270 pillars and 14 gates lead into the interior. Built in typical Moorish architecture it also contains a library. The neighboring Medersa Ataryne is a beautifully appointed university and absolutely worth seeing. You will also visit the tomb of the city founder Moulay Idriss (from outside), the largest sanctuary of the city and the craftsmen quarters with a tannery and a blacksmith's alley.
After lunch (optional) you have time to stroll around the souk and through the medina (old town). Let yourself be enchanted by the oriental atmosphere of this splendid city and don't miss to visit one of the big carpet houses "Palais de Fes" or "Palais Ibn Khaldoun", which are housed in old and grand city houses. Here you will get a free guided tour and an explanation of the carpets. Also worth visiting are the brocade weavers, which only exist in Fez. In the "Ville Nouvelle" you can stroll through elegant residential areas and wide streets. The Boujeloud Gardens with high trees, palm trees and bamboo groves, beautifully blooming and decorated with fountains, invite you to relax after a long day. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Zalagh Parc Palace.

Day 5: Fez - Ifrane - Erfoud
Breakfast in the hotel. Today, the route leads you inland through cedar forests and past beautiful landscapes. You cross the Middle Atlas. Continue through the winter sports centre Ifrane, Azrou and Rimahdite to Midelt, in the northeast of the High Atlas. Lunch (optional) is taken on the way. In the afternoon you reach Erfoudwith its oasis. The capital of the Tafialet lies at an altitude of 802 m at the foot of the Djabal Erfoud (935 m). The purchase of fossils from the fossilized coral reef is particularly worthwhile here. It is possible to make an optional trip to Merzouga. In the small desert oasis on the edge of the Erg Chebbi, the large dune area of Morocco, you will be enchanted by the shimmering sand dunes at sunset (booking and payment on the spot).
Dinner and overnight at Bivouac Chergui Sahara De Luxe at Merzouga near Erfoud.
Distance: approx. 420km.

Day 6: Erfoud – Tinerhir – Ouarzazate
Breakfast in the hotel. The day starts with crossing of the Hamada, a stone desert, and leads to the places Tinjdad and Tinerhir. Lunch (optional) will be taken in the Todra Gorge, where you have some free time. The approximately 300 meters vertically sloping rock walls, which narrow at the closest point to about 100 meters, are impressive. Then continue on to Boumalne, past the Dades Gorge, along the fascinating "Road of the 1000 Kasbahs" to Ouarzazate. This modern city lies on a desert-like plateau at about 1,200 m altitude and offers a magnificent view. Brown and red houses, walls with white set battlements, a beautiful main square and the palm-lined pedestrian zone contribute to the special charm.
Dinner and overnight at the Berbere Palace Hotel.
Distance: approx. 380km.

Day 7: Ouarzazate - Marrakech
After breakfast we pass the famous Kasbah Aït Benhaddou, where movies such as "Sodom and Gomorrah", "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Gladiator" have been filmed. The Kasbah is one of the protected sites of UNESCO.
Continue to Marrakech over the Tizi 'n-Tichka Pass. In the "Pearl of the Orient" the whole variety of oriental life is reflected in its contrasts. After a structural revaluation process in the 80s, the medina now shines with all its charm again. The Riads are used as exclusive private residences or as fine guest houses. They are like palaces from 1001 nights with small gardens in the inner courtyard. You will have lunch at the hotel. Afterwards you visit the Saadian graves and the world famous square "Djemaa el Fna". Let yourself be enchanted by snake charmers, storytellers and fortune tellers. On the square you can taste freshly squeezed juices and various types of dates. Enjoy this unforgettable atmosphere. A dinner with folklore show is already included in the price.
Stay at Hotel Sofitel Marrakech Lounge and Spa.
Distance: approx. 380km.

Day 8: Marrakech - departure
After breakfast transfer to airport.
